A beautiful day in Palmetto for the Frank Connor Park Dedication Ceremony. A eco-friendly park remediated from former contaminated soils, and now features surface water filtration plants and materials, solar trees, bat houses, osprey nest, gazebo a new sculpture "Spoonbills in Flight" created by local artist Ron Berman.
I had the honor of speaking to the group on Frank Connors history to the area and introduction of the family.
The Palmetto CRA partnership with the Southwest Florida Water Management District and Tampa Bay Estuary Program on this project. The final transformation creates a waterfront hub to the Palmetto Trails system. This nine-mile multimodal system will connect the entire city to parks, services, shopping and the waterfront.
